June Cars and Coffee

We had a great turnout today at our June Chippewa Valley Cars & Coffee, and while we had 50+ cars show up, because of their enthusiastic owners, it will be the 3 Tesla Model S, that I will remember the most. The black one had the rear facing 3rd row of seats in it, while I was half joking about wanting to see how I fit, I jumped in, when the owner told me to go for it.

Chad Menne was standing near by and for still unknown reasons thought that if I "fit" in the rear seats of the black Model S, that I should definitely try to fit in the front trunk of his Model S. After a brief negotiation which included Chad signing up for Chippewa Valley Sports Car Club (CVSCC)'s Spitfire Challenge next weekend, I climbed on into the front of his Model S.

Later on, as everyone started packing up and heading home, I found myself talking to Mark Hanson, who said something along the lines of "You really need to drive a Model S to understand how they are different than normal cars." About a minute later, I was going down the road in the driver's seat of Mark's Model S (Which I actually fit in.)

I hope that everyone that came out this morning had a great time, and I look forward to seeing you all there again next month!

To all of our fans, friends, and former members. The Chippewa Valley Sports Car Club is trying to branch out a bit this year and has a few things in the works that are hopefully of interest to many of you.

-We will continue hosting our two annual autocross events. The Spitfire Challenge is June 29th, and the Dick Feeney Memorial Autocross will be Sept. 28th.

-The club has started a local version of the early Saturday morning gatherings that are popular across the country, which we are calling the Chippewa Valley Cars & Coffee. (Click the link for more information.)

-We will be getting a group of people together for a cruise or two later in the summer.

-There is some significant interest in once again hosting a TSD (Time Speed Distance) Rally in the Chippewa Valley.

As always, we hope to see you all out at one, or all of our events.

Sincerely,
Steven Andringa
President - Chippewa Valley Sports Car Club

What: Chippewa Valley Cars and Coffee will be a place to meet other car enthusiasts, talk about cars, drink some free coffee, eat some free donuts, and generally just have a fun time.

Details for our future events:
When: Every 3rd Saturday of the Month.
Time: 8am-11am
